DR. MARCEL THOMPSON
Venus’s goal is to add vitality to longevity to accomplish a healthier and vibrate patient.
Dr. Marcel Thompson is a native Texan, born in Del Rio, Texas and raised in San Antonio and Houston, Texas. Dr. Thompson had a passion for medicine at an early age andgraduated from the High School for Health Professions in Houston, Texas before attending Prairie View A&M University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He has now been practicing medicine for 25 years, committed to improving lives through a holistic approach in treating each patient with care and compassion.
He then went on to receive his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also met his wife Dr. Dewana Thompson, while she was working on her doctorate in Family Studies and Child Development. Soon after they were married Dr. Thompson completed his obstetrical/gynecology residency from Tulane Medical University, in New Orleans, La, before serving six years in the U.S. Army.
Dr. Thompson has enjoyed private practice in Bellaire for the past 2 years, after serving the community, as the Women’s director at Hope Asian Community Health Clinic and Legacy Community Health Clinic, (Federally Qualified Health Centers) His community involvement includes serving as State Vice-Chair for Programs with the March of Dimes Texas Chapter; a previous board member of the Austin Area Urban League. Dr. Thompson also has served on the Texas Medical Association select committee on Medicaid, CHIP and the uninsured; as well as being appointed to the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Medicaid and CHIP Regional Advisory Committee by the HHSC director, pastresident for the Harris County Medical Society (HCMS) Southwest Branch, and currently on the HCMS board of socioeconomic.
Dr. Thompson feels that patients should look as good they feel and feel good as they look through an integrative approach to medicine utilizing traditional and alternative medicine that enhances each patient aesthetic appearance.
